AJ Stringer

AJ is from St. Paul, MN, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota in 2023. Upon graduating, he fled the landlocked state and headed to the Florida Keys, where he worked as a coral restoration practitioner and Divemaster. After some time in the sun, he returned to Minnesota and worked as an aquarist, maintaining tropical reef tanks, caring for corals, feeding sharks, and scuba diving in exhibits. He now draws from these experiences and applies his hands-on skills in the Coral Reef Ecophysiology & Engineering Lab, where he cares for corals used in research and conducts fieldwork experiments with coral restoration technologies developed by the lab. In his free time, he loves scuba diving, fist-bumping at concerts, and eating burritos.
